Baking Soda

Not only is baking soda inexpensive and great for baking, but it can also be used to clean various parts of your home. From stovetops to toilets, baking soda is a great scrub that can make your household surfaces and appliances look as good as new. Baking soda is also nontoxic, so you don’t have to worry about any releasing harmful chemicals in your home. Simply dampen a surface with a sponge and water, pour a small amount of baking soda on top and you’re ready to clean!

White Vinegar

Once you get past its strong scent, white vinegar is an extremely effective cleaning product for your home. By creating a mixture of white vinegar and water, you can remove stains from carpets, furniture and other fabrics in your home. This mixture can also be used to clean various surfaces such as windows and countertops. If you’re looking to get rid of unwanted odors in your home, simply leave a bowl of white vinegar in a room overnight and the smell should dissipate by morning.

Toothbrush

Don’t throw away old toothbrushes! Use them to scrub or polish different items in your home. Toothbrushes work as great polishing tools for silver; rub a small amount of toothpaste on your silver then use the toothbrush to clean it. Toothbrushes can also be used to scrub away dirt and debris in the grout in your tile floor, counter or shower.
